For authors

The University of Oradea Press operates in accordance with the Organisation and Functioning Regulation approved by the Senate of the University of Oradea on 22 February 2024.

Under the imprint of UO Press, works may be published (books and periodicals, courses, practical workbooks, textbooks) in both classical format (printed on paper) and electronic format (online/e-book, CD, DVD) for all fundamental fields existing at UO, within or outside the relevant collections.

See the list of required documents for editing courses, scientific works and journals.

Publishing stages
STEP 1. Submitting the publication request and required forms

Submission for evaluation of the final version of the manuscript in exclusively electronic format (doc., and if necessary also .pdf). UO Press recommends a typesetting format, but also accepts other format proposals from authors. The manuscript must comply with the minimum technical rules and requirements for the creation of electronic manuscripts.

Online completion of the publishing form.

Completion, signing and uploading to the website of the Declaration of Originality by each author/co-author.

Uploading two recommendation reports from two academic staff members with a minimum rank of lecturer or scientific researcher grade II.

The University of Oradea Press accepts its authors' use of the citation system of the Romanian Academy and of any standardised citation style, agreed upon for the manuscript's field and applied consistently and correctly throughout the work.

STEP 2. Manuscript evaluation

The evaluation of manuscripts submitted for publication is carried out through a peer-review system, by two independent evaluators, specialists with national and international recognition in the field of the manuscript, within the Scientific Council of the Press (SCP).

The final decision on the publication of the volume belongs to the Press, which will take into account the analysis and recommendations of the SCP and will communicate to the author the decision on whether or not to accept the publication of the manuscript.

STEP 3. Publication

If the manuscript achieves a minimum of 70 points for each of the review criteria during the evaluation process, it enters the publication stage, which in turn comprises several phases:

  1. Proofreading
    • The first proofreading, carried out in the "Track changes" system, which may take between 5 and 90 days, depending on the complexity.
    • Sending the manuscript to the author for acceptance/rejection of the suggested changes and preparation of the final file of the volume.
    • Returning the manuscript to UO Press, with the author's notes on the results of the first proofreading. There may be several proofreading rounds until the process is concluded.
  2. Reservation of the ISBN code and obtaining the CIP description from the National Library.
  3. Printing.
  4. Delivery to the press within 15 days of publication of the 12 copies required for legal deposit.

More information related to the publishing process can be found by accessing the Organisation and Functioning Regulation of the Press.

In the case of receiving requests from libraries abroad (whether or not members of WorldCat, KVK, OCLC, etc.), UO Press undertakes to contact the authors in order to obtain the required number of copies and their agreement regarding the dispatch of the respective publications.

All publications issued under the imprint of UO Press will display the press logo on the cover, in the case of physical works, or on the title page or start screen, in the case of electronic works.
