Metaphora logo The Metaphora Collection

The editorial collection Metaphora brings together theoretical reflection and applied practice in the field of philology, with a focus on scientific research in linguistics, literature and didactics. The name suggests the transfer of meaning, the cultural mediation and the dialogue between disciplines — values that constitute the main criterion for the selection of published volumes.

Concept

Metaphora starts from a broad understanding of contemporary philology. The collection gathers works on foreign language didactics, phonetics and phonology, translation, academic communication and specialized languages, reflecting the real diversity of research in the field. Its multilingual character — French, English, German, Romanian — supports openness to the international space and intercultural dialogue.

Mission

The collection aims to support philological research by

  • publication of papers relevant to the academic and educational environment.
  • bringing research closer to teaching practice.
  • supporting authors who bring something new to language teaching and literary studies.
  • maintaining rigorous editorial standards in line with international standards.

Contribution to philological research

The volumes that appeared in the collection show a constant concern for renewal. The titles are accepted into the collection with the coordinator’s approval, subsequently the authors / volume coordinators / editors must present the Oradea University Press with the signed approval form from the collection’s coordinator and with positive reference letters from two experts in the strict field of the publication. An annual periodicity of publication is intended, but continuity and the conceptual coherence of the collection take prior.
